If you sometimes have nostalgic moments you probably think of some of those great movies you watched while you were younger. You think of some of those shows that always made your days and left a mark in you. They probably introduced you to characters with the most mythic characteristics, some were witches, goddesses and others were superheroes.

These legends contributed greatly to pop culture and a lot of us aspired to be like these women that graced our screens. We feared them and we loved them. Here are 18 of the most iconic characters that played remarkable roles on stage and the screen. We take a look at how they are today and how they may have changed overtime. We’ve only combined 18 but there are more people who could have easily made this list too. Read on:

1. Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn is a big fan, lover and in most cases accomplice of the Joker.  He was one of her patients when she played an intern psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum in Gotham City. Her alias is a result of a play on a character that came from commedia dell’arte, Harlequin. She also worked alongside fellow villains namely Catwoman and Poison Ivy. The three would be known as Gotham City Sirens. In the film, Ivy is portrayed as Harley’s romantic interest and close friend.  Since the DC comics line was relaunched, Harley Quinn has been portrayed as an antihero and has recurred as a strong part of the Suicide Squad. She has left her unhealthy relationship with Joker behind her.

Arleen Sorkin is the one who voiced this originally in the DC animated world. She has since worked on other DC projects that have been voiced by other actresses that include Hynden Walch, Tara Strong, Melissa Rauch, Jeny Slate, Laura Bailey and Kaley Cuoco. The later gave her voice for Harley Quinn in 2019. Mia Sara played the role in Birds of Prey back in 2002. In 2016 Harley Quinn debuted in a live-action film in the Suicide Squad. She was portrayed by the talented Margot Robbie. Margot later reprised the role in Birds of Prey in 2020 and again in The Suicide Squad in 2021.
